Electronic Connectivity Services – ECS

IPC is unique in that it is the financial markets’ connectivity specialist, backed by a 35-year track record meeting the trading communications requirements of market participants. IPC‘s Electronic Connectivity Services are unique as well, in that they are 100% focused on financial market communities. This comprehensive family of services is engineered from the ground up for electronic trading applications.

ECS is also fast to deploy, especially among market participants that are already part of our network community. Chances are your firm already relies on IPC’s global Financial Extranet to connect you to the marketplace, whether you’re a bank, an inter-dealer broker, an alternative investment firm, an asset manager, or a broker/dealer. Execution venues also rely on IPC, including established exchanges and alternative trading systems such as Multilateral Trading Facilities (MTFs) and Electronic Crossing Networks (ECNs).

Exclusively for Financial Services Our global connectivity infrastructure is exclusively focused on providing financial institutions and software suppliers with connectivity for all aspects of the trade lifecycle. Our experience means that we’re ready to help you address the challenges of delivering and accessing liquidity and execution data, of connecting to all the key financial markets and other participants, as well as solving your key enterprise connectivity issues. Learn more about these capabilities: High Reliability, Total Data Security ECS is among the most resilient electronic trading network services – and the most secure. ECS keeps your private data private. We transport using Ethernet Layer 2 protocols over a SONET/SDH core, which means you don’t even have to expose an IP address when you use ECS.

Fast Circuit Provisioning Whether you’re ordering 1.5 megabit/second or 1 gigabit/second (or anything in between), ECS lines are turned up fast. Connect in less than a day to any ECS-ready member of the IPC Financial Extranet.

Uncompromising Bandwidth IPC provides Ethernet Layer 2 end-to-end – and never oversubscribes. That means you receive dedicated – not shared – bandwidth. And ECS’ multiple redundant pathways make sure customer data always gets through. In comparison, MPLS – the Multi Protocol Label Switching data-carrying mechanism used by many other providers – lowers service cost, but at a price financial services firms cannot afford to pay. MPLS creates packet queuing and contention issues that result in significantly lower quality of service. Therefore, there are important benefits to using ECS, as opposed to MPLS technology.

GSOC Watches Over You IPC’s “follow-the-sun” support model – with our Global Solutions Operations Centers (GSOCs) in New York, London and Sydney – makes certain that our highly trained specialists are monitoring the network at all hours of the day and night. Depending on the level of service you prefer, we can proactively monitor your network, end-to-end, and notify you when problems arise, or simply take the necessary action to remediate them. IPC’s high-touch customer service model puts our skilled support team at your service.
